Memorial Workshop in Honor of Rivka Basman Ben-Hayim

On April 23, 2023, the YIVO, the League for Yiddish, and YO (Yiddish-Ort) will host an online event honoring the memory of the recently deceased poet Rivka Basman Ben-Hayim. The free event will be held online – and exclusively in Yiddish; registration in advance is required. It will begin at 1:00 PM (EDT).

As the organizers of the program emphasize, Basman Ben-Hayim’s passing has marked the end of an entire era in the history of Yiddish literature. Under the guidance of Dr. Miriam Trinh, the participants will read and discuss together the poems of the late poetess.
